The Vacancy
We’re VIVID! –We offer a vibrant, friendly, inclusive culture that supports, develops and attracts the best people!
Are you passionate about creating safe, thriving neighbourhoods and delivering excellent customer service?
We're recruiting for 3 x Neighbourhood Officers to join our team! These are fixed-term contract positions of between 9 and 12 months, with the contract length varying depending on the geographical area covered (this can be discussed further at interview). This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week.
These roles will be contractually based out of our Portsmouth office, with each officer predominantly covering one of the following areas: Southampton, Fareham & Gosport, or West Sussex.
This is a remote working role, so you'll spend most of your time out and about in the community, supporting customers within your designated patch.
Want to know what we can offer you?
Here’s the facts about the role:
As a neighbourhood officer, you’ll be main contact for customers within your patch. As their go-to person, they can talk to you about a range of matters in relation to their tenancy conditions, health and safety issues, rent/service charges, repairs and more.
Your overall aim as Neighbourhood Officer, is to help create attractive, safe, sustainable and well-maintained communities for our customers to live in. As part of this, you’ll make sure we offer them good quality and ‘value for money’ services. You’ll soon get to know and understand who our customers are and be able to identify the support they may need to keep their tenancies.
As a customer-focused professional, you'll build strong relationships with our customers, providing proactive support and regular communication while delivering a responsive service. You'll work collaboratively with teams across the organisation, including lettings, income, and compliance services, and will recognise when you need to make referrals to the tenancy support team so that things are put in place for customers to keep & maintain their tenancies. You’ll also work with external partners, to help customers access the support they need. You'll also contribute to estate improvement initiatives, community engagement activities and the delivery of high-quality housing management services that provide value for money.
We’re looking for someone who's customer focused, who can confidently handle challenging customers and any neighbour disputes. Resilience, assertiveness and the ability to work under pressure are important in this role. You’ll have demonstrable experience of working with the general public face to face, or in a public services environment showing a strong background in service delivery. You'll have an awareness / understanding of the social housing sector and although experience in housing management/law would be an advantage, we’re really keen to encourage people from a variety of backgrounds, who can apply a range of transferable skills, and a fresh approach to how we deliver a great customer experience!
As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid.
Interviews are due to take place 29 September in Portsmouth,
30 September in Basingstoke (subject to change)
