We’re looking for a Minor Works Officer to join our team! This role covers Hampshire and can be contractually based out of our Portsmouth or Basingstoke office. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week, with a minimum 20% office based to promote collaboration and team working within the Minor Works team and other colleagues across the business.

Here’s the facts about the role:

As a Minor Works Officer you’ll provide an efficient communication and administration function to the Minor Works service area and will support our Repairs Surveyors as necessary.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring contractor work orders, spend, and performance
  • Liaise with our customers and contractors, arranging meetings and taking minutes
  • Processing invoices and payments
  • Acknowledging complaints, compliments, and call backs within agreed timeframes, escalating when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records, systems, databases, and live working documents
  • Support our surveyors with booking appointments and general admin
  • Tracking data to be able to deliver weekly performance data to the Minor Works Manager
  • Support with monthly Health & Safety inspections and log findings


As Minor Works Officer you’ll be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a strong level of IT skills. You’ll have excellent written & verbal communication skills, and will be able to adapt these to meet the needs of our contractors, customers and other stakeholders.

You’ll have a high level of accuracy & attention to detail which you’ll put to use when updating our systems and records, and will have strong administrative skills, providing an outstanding administrative and support service within the Minor Works team.

You’ll have strong interpersonal skills and natural leadership skills in order to support our Surveyors. While previous experience working within housing / social housing is not essential, we’d love to see evidence of an awareness or understanding of the housing sector and/or basic building pathology.

Ultimately, you’ll be passionate about delivering an excellent service within the Minor Works team and keen to help us deliver an outstanding service to our customers.

As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid.
